Tan/Brown Granite

Hello.........just installed a tan/brown polished granite countertop in our kitchen.  The installer sealed it, and said we would not have to seal again for @2 years.  He said that the tan/brown granite was denser than other colors, and did not have to be sealed as often.  Is this true?   Terri
